VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Demanding professionals will appreciate the new STIHL MS 361 and MS 361 C-Q mid-range chain saws with low vibrations and a variety of innovative features. At 4.4 bhp, the MS 361 offers users the best power-to-weight ratio in the 50 to 60 cc class and an expected lifetime 50 percent longer than its predecessor, the MS 360.

The MS 361 and 361 C-Q feature a completely redesigned anti-vibration system that reduces vibration levels by nearly 30 percent (as compared to the MS 360), giving users added control with less fatigue. And its filtering system, featuring a filter fleece for dirty conditions or a 70-micron fabric filter for average conditions, increases servicing intervals by 100 percent.

The all-weather chain saws' repositioned tank vent, located on the clutch side instead of the flywheel side of the chain, provides superior protection from debris, dirt and moisture. And, an innovative carburetor preheating system, equipped with an easily accessible winter/summer shutter, speeds engine starting in cold weather conditions. In addition, a gravity cast cylinder with a four-port system produces lower emissions and a high power output, with less displacement.

Both units are equipped with the STIHL Quickstop® chain braking system, side access to chain tensioners, decompression valves, tool-less fuel and oil caps with retainers, and STIHL's IntelliCarb(tm) compensating carburetor.

The MS 361 C-Q includes all the standard features of the MS 361 but also offers STIHL's exclusive QS dual chain braking system and the ElastoStart(tm) shock-absorbing starting handle. With QS models, in addition to the STIHL Quickstop® which is designed to stop the chain in a fraction of a second, the chain brake can also be activated with the interlock lever by removing the right hand completely from the rear handle, which stops the chain within one second, offering additional control in certain circumstances.
