(New Prague, MN) — Team STIHL's Tom Dropik and his powerhouse black Labrador retriever Rocky finish their 2008 Dock Jumping season with a bang at the 2008 DockDogs National Championship at Cabelas in Richfield WI on October 10th – 12th. With the sun high in the sky, energy filled the air as competitors from all over the country gathered to Cabelas for 3 days of high flying action.  Two competition docks faced off end to end providing nonstop action and activities all weekend long. Team STIHL's Tom and Rocky were a force to recon with in Extreme Vertical, Speed Retrieve and the newest competition Iron Dog. They went head to head with the biggest and best jumping dogs in the nation and put on a show which always puts them atop as the Fan Favorites. Although the medal stand was not to be for Team STIHL that weekend, the spectators were very happy with their paw-o-graphs from Rocky and knowing they got to see this fascinating team.

2008 was a memorial season for Tom. As a long time veteran of the sport he’s been to places and met people that have helped build experiences that will never be forgotten. 2008 was to be no different. Tom experienced yet another first in the sport as he took the position of Expert Analyst on the TV Show DockDogs Unleashed on the Outdoor Channel.

Tom was also able to qualify his 4-year-old Rocky for the 2008 STIHL Dogs and Logs World Championships in Stillwater, MN in July. Team STIHL's Tom and Rocky burned up the dock and took home Bronze in Speed Retrieve and Bronze in the first ever Iron Dog competition.

“First and foremost, I want to thank STIHL for all their Support, I couldn’t do this with out them“ says Tom. “I’m looking forward to another successful run in the 2009. Keep you eye out for us. We’ll be the ones sporting the Black and Orange and Flyin’ High.
