Vehicle: ARUSA #10 STIHL Race Car
Chris Crecelius has been racing in the ARUSA for 3 years. Always a NASCAR fan, it didn’t take long for Chris to wonder if he could do it. Guess that question was answered, as Chris has finished in the top 20 in each of his three seasons.
One of the highlights of his short career has to be his wins against some familiar faces. “I had the opportunity to race and beat Kurt Bush and a craftsman truck driver who decided to try our sport out”, said Chris. “That has to be one of the bigger moments so far.”
Chris acknowledges the most rewarding part of his racing career is putting a winning team together and meeting the other drivers and teams on the series. “It takes hard work and effort to have a team work together during a race night, said Chris. “I want to thank everyone that has been associated with my team since day one, there are too many to list but they know who they are. I also want to thank my Dad, my Crewchief, for being my number one supporter helping make this a success.
When he’s not racing, Chris enjoys fishing and camping in North Carolina and the mountains of Virginia with his family.

Well, we just finished up our last 3 races of the season and we
wound up 17th overall in points. I feel like I really learned a lot the
last
2 races and our performance on the track showed that. We led all but
the last 9 laps of our last Main and thought for sure we would come home
with a win but got caught up in some lapped traffic. We finished 5th.
At least we did bring home a trophy this season while traveling down
to Charlotte, NC. I want to thank Stihl Inc. for giving me the opportunity
to put together an awesome race team and I thoroughly enjoyed every
moment working and driving the racecar. It truly was a dream come true
for me!
Thank you,
Chris Crecelius

Racing has been great!
We traveled to Charlotte and came home with a win in the C Main and 4th
in the Top Dog event. It was really fun to compete with a different
group of people for once. We followed that up with a second place finish
in the D Main, *8th place in the C Main and this past weekend we finished
runner up in the C Main. Were having a very good second half and plan
to continue the climb to the top.
Hope to see everyone on the 22nd of February.
We should be about 16th in points!
Thanks,
Chris

The #10 Stihl Car was running pretty decent the last couple races. We started race night #7 off to a slow start. We tried a few changed to pick up our speed a little and in doing so we made some progress. One of the best parts of this season for us is that we have not been involved in any wrecks to put us out of a race. That changed during our heat race when we were hit hard from another car on the left front breaking a steering component. That put us in our first "D" main of the season ending our streak of only A and B mains this year. We started 5th and brought the car home in a very good solid second place about a half a lap ahead of third. We made the Top Dog race but cut a right front tire while going thru the pit inspection. The rules are only Tape and air are allowed to be added to the car before the start. We ran about 9 laps and finished 12th of 14 cars. A very good points night for us.
Thanks,
Chris

Race
Salvaged a 6th place finish in the B Main.
While in our heat race I was running 3rd when I slowed up for a flipping car entering turn 3 and got driven hard into from behind by two cars that didn't see the caution come out. I then was pushed hard into two other cars. That ended up bending a rear axle but still managed a good finish putting us in the b main. After my crew worked hard with a short amount of time they replaced the axle and straightened the bent parts and sent me on my way to start last in the main. I worked my way up thru the field and ran my fastest lap of the year when all of a sudden I must have ran over some debris and cut the right rear tire down. I stayed out to gain points 2 seconds slower than the rest and managed a 6th place finish due to some help from bad wrecks before the checkers.
Great job to my crew Karl and Eric!
Thanks,
Chris

Picking it up a notch before the Thanksgiving break!
We clicked off some really good laps in our Heat race to finish 2nd. That put us in the "A Main" for the second week in a row. With the help of my awesome Pit Crew they dialed the car in so it was as fast as I've been in quite a while. I finished 6th in the race and that qualified us into the TOP DOG Race. We drew the pole position and held on to the lead for 5 laps before getting passed by some really good cars. I ended up checking up for a car and spinning the car around and that put us back a few spots. We restarted and ran pretty decent laps until about 5 to go when I just kissed the outside wall with the right front tire and caused a slow leak. We managed to limp it home to a 12th place finish. I think this puts us somewhere in the top ten in points.
Dec 1st is our next race, Have a Happy Thanksgiving and see you next race!

After making adjustments to our car during some pretty good practice rounds
we finally got the car to stay on all 4 wheels thru the turns. This is one
thing that is common to most cars in Arena Racing. The track has so much grip
if your setup is a little tight it will lift up on the left side. My crew got
the car a little looser after finishing 4th in the 1st heat. That qualified
me for the "A Main" -- the fastest of the field. While holding on
to 8th place I struggled a little halfway thru the race when the car got really
loose coming off the turns. We think we went up just a little too much on tire
pressure and ended up 8th. Another 23 points for our second race. That should
put us around 16th in points. Not a bad start for the season.
This weekend will be a tricky one with all the rookies joining the heats and
Mains. Come on out and see the action this Saturday night in Hampton.

Wow what a good night for us. After a Great run last weekend with
a 4th place finish in the "C Main" we capped our season off with
a 3rd place finish in the "C Main" again and a 7th Place finish
in the "Top Dog Race"!
We battled a slick track all night from what the officials called "a
racier track" We had the #10 Stihl Car hooked up and flying. We were
running just a little bit loose and lost it running mid pack but capitalized
later on a few cautions and gained all those spots back by the end of the
race. I've never had so many people come up to me after a race ands tell
me what a great time they had watching me run those races. It was a good
feeling to be able to put on a great race in front of all my fans. I think
I even gained a bunch more last night! Thank you to all my fans that come
out to watch me race every weekend. I appreciate that support and it makes
me race that much harder on race day. Thank you to my crew Karl Richter,
Charlie Crecelius, and Jeff Davis. Without these guys it would be
impossible for me to have this much fun.
Thank you Mr. Phelps for all your support this year; it was an honor to
represent Stihl Incorporated.
I look forward to an even better year in 08. Ill see you guys
at the first race next year!
